Nike Missile Robins Defense Area

(R-28) Jeffersonville R-28 IFC - R-28 Launch Area
(R-88) Byron R-88 IFC - R-88 Launch Area

Two above-ground Nike Hercules sites designated R-28 and R-88 were located in Jeffersonville and Byron, respectively. Manned by Regular Army units, these two batteries stood guard over Robins AFB from November 1960 until March 1966. Headquarters facilities were located at Robins.
