T-02 was an unmanned Launch Facility / missile silo assigned to T-01 Missile Alert Facility and Tango Flight in the F.E. Warren missile field. It belonged to the 90th Strategic
Missile Wing during the SAC era and later to the 90th Missile Wing. Its Peacekeeper-era squadron was the 400th Missile Squadron. T-02 is no longer an active missile facility.
The Peacekeeper mission at F.E. Warren ended on 2005-09-19, and the former Peacekeeper launch facilities were later included in New START-era silo-elimination planning.
T-02 occupied open rural land east of Wheatland, Wyoming.
No public access was confirmed; the site should be treated as private or restricted property unless current land records or posted access information show otherwise.
Like the other Tango Flight launch facilities, T-02 was a launch facility rather than a crewed command post. Missile crews served at
T-01, while maintenance, communications,
and security teams visited T-02 as needed. Public exterior photos from 2013 show
general views, the silo area, and site lighting, but no unique preserved feature, public interpretation, or unusual reuse was identified.
T-02 began as a Minuteman launch facility in the F.E. Warren missile field and later passed through the Minuteman III-to-Peacekeeper conversion that affected 50 former
Minuteman silos assigned to the 400th Missile Squadron. Official Air Force history states that the Peacekeeper became operational at F.E. Warren in 1986, that 50 missiles were
in service there by 1988, and that the missiles were placed in hardened underground silos previously used by Minuteman ICBMs.
T-02 is a decommissioned former Minuteman / Peacekeeper launch facility. The missile is gone, and the site was part of the broader New START disposal framework for former
Peacekeeper launch facilities at F.E. Warren. Parcel-level current ownership and reuse were not verified.
1963 The 90th Strategic Missile Wing was activated at F.E. Warren during the Minuteman buildup.
1965-06 The F.E. Warren Minuteman force was in the fully operational era; T-02 belonged to the Tango Flight launch-facility network.
1975 Minuteman III replaced Minuteman I at F.E. Warren.
1986 The Peacekeeper became operational at F.E. Warren.
1988 Fifty Peacekeeper missiles were in service at F.E. Warren.
2005-09-19 The Peacekeeper mission at F.E. Warren ended.
2007-06 A Tank Closure Report for Launch Facility Tango-2, F.E. Warren AFB, Wyoming, was listed in the 2013 silo-elimination environmental assessment bibliography.
2011-02-05 New START entered into force.
2013 The Final Environmental Assessment for Minuteman III and Peacekeeper Silo Elimination addressed former Peacekeeper launch facilities and associated missile alert facilities at F.E. Warren.
2013-08-02 Public photographs of T-02 were published in the AirForceBase.net Peacekeeper field photo set.
2018-02-04 New START required covered silo-elimination work to be completed by this date.
